We are seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our team in the Wilkes-Barre, PA office. This position will be a part of our Borton-Lawson area.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated Survey Crew Chief to join our team and work on diverse and challenging projects, including drones! Field and office duties include boundary, topographic, ALTA/ASCM land title, scanning, flood certificates, construction staking, lot surveys, and more!

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collect physical features of the land using various types of survey equipment such as levels, total stations, and GPS, 3D scanners, Drones, etc.
Establish property lines
Research deeds and maps
Coordinate the work of the survey crew to determine elevations and to stake boundaries for map making, construction, land, and other surveys
Reduce electronic field notes in the computer network, and extracts electronic data for field use
Collect field notes using both paper field book and electronic field book
Prepare existing conditions plans for design
Lead field crew in the day-to-day operations
Assist project managers with proposal development and ensure client needs are met
Effectively communicate client goals and objects to both internal and external participants
Perform a diverse range of survey work including but not limited to Transportation, Industrial, Oil & Gas, Power, Construction, etc.
Work with a broad range of survey equipment including but not limited to GPS, Total Stations, 3D Scanners, Drones, etc.
Adhere to and enforce company and client safety procedures
Travel to work sites which includes extended-stay travel 20% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates or Bachelors degree in surveying and 3 years of relevant survey experience or; 7 years of relevant survey field experience
1 year of experience supervising a team
Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification, preferred
107 Drone license, preferred
Capable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environment
Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly with or without accommodation
Must possess a valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle to travel to work sites
Willingness to travel for extended periods of time
Willingness to work 6:30 am to 4:30 pm, 5 days per week
Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
