  3. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Radiation Therapist
  4. In-depth understanding of department functions, purpose of radiation therapy, and effective communication with nurses, physicians, Medical Center staff, and the public
  5. Continuing education as prescribed by JCAHO and A.R.R.T.

Position Summary: The Radiation Therapist, an ARRT Registered Therapist, administers radiation therapy as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Interacting with patients, physicians, nurses, families, and co-workers is integral to this role, requiring excellent interpersonal communication skills. The position involves caring for all age groups from newborns to geriatrics.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Radiation Therapist
  • In-depth knowledge of department functions and the purpose of radiation therapy
  • Ability to explain radiation therapy to various stakeholders
  • Prior experience in a Radiation Oncology Department (desirable but not required)

Work Hours: 8 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday
