Our client, a leading player in the Buildings and Construction sector, is seeking a talented individual for the role of Principal. With a multitude of accolades, our client has a strong presence nationwide.

Job Description

Skills: Extensive experience in the Buildings/Construction domain, AEC industry, and emerging enterprises. Proficiency in innovative business model design, scenario planning, experimentation, and digitalization.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree. A comprehensive grasp of the current state, language, trends, regulations, and cutting-edge technology solutions in the Buildings/Construction sector is crucial. Familiarity with Industrialized Construction (Offsite) is advantageous. While consultancy background is optional, leading projects with an internal team of 3-5 individuals (including Associates and Partners) is essential. The role demands agility and consistent progress in the face of evolving client priorities.

Our Principals exhibit entrepreneurial skills in business model design, scenario planning, experimentation, and digitalization, while maintaining focus on creating client-ready reports and presentations at short notice.

Responsibilities:

  • Coach and lead week-to-week project operations, overseeing the preparation of client deliverables and strategically delegating to junior team members.
  • Conduct client calls to review progress, challenge clients’ thinking, confirm project direction, and identify priorities for subsequent work.
  • Cultivate client relationships, identifying and nurturing project opportunities within client organizations.
  • Utilize relationships and project successes to build a diverse portfolio in your core areas of expertise.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance and feedback for improvement.
  • Support internal initiatives, including hiring efforts, marketing/business development, and operational developments to scale as a business.
  • Approach everyday work with unwavering curiosity and enthusiasm for projects aiming to create change in traditionally slow-to-evolve industries.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity, and work ethic, serving as a role model for junior staff.

Requirements:

  • Over 10 years of relevant commercial experience in the Buildings/Construction sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise and a strong network to build a diverse portfolio.
  • A commitment to asking insightful questions.
  • A self-starter who is highly motivated, responsive, and thrives under limited guidance in uncertain situations.
  • Passion for innovation and positive societal change in the Buildings/Construction sector.
  • Strong and polished writing/communication style with an advanced command of the English language.
  • Curiosity and passion for technology commercialization in challenging settings.
  • Business case or consulting experience (preferred but not required).
  • A balance of interpersonal skills with the ability to carefully research and synthesize findings with a high degree of organization.
  • Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree.
