Our client, a leader in the construction and trades industry, is seeking a skilled Superintendent for Underground Utilities Installation. This role offers a competitive bonus structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee adherence to all OSHA Standards, emphasizing Trench Safety and Confined Space protocols.
  • Conduct thorough examinations and inspections of work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure safety and compliance with specifications.
  • Take charge of crew safety, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating work activities.
  • Proficiently interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Complete daily documentation, including Time sheets, Trench Logs, Bore Log Sheets, etc.
  • Accurately measure from blueprints and determine grade/elevations for construction requirements.
  • Efficiently organize crews, materials, and equipment to maximize productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness within budgetary constraints.
  • Record and report equipment and material usage, work production, and employee work hours using specified forms.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust crew work, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to schedules.
  • Maintain an inventory of equipment and materials well in advance of project requirements.
  • Demonstrate expertise in installing underground utility pipe, fittings, valves, and piping systems.
  • Proficiently operate an excavator/loader.
  • Effectively communicate, motivate, and collaborate within a team.
  • Read plans, conduct general layout, and install various types of underground pipes, shooting elevations.
  • Understand trenching, excavation, and backfill procedures.
  • Perform installation, diagnosis, and repair/replacement of pipes, fittings, and components for piping systems, above and below grade.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit documentation, correspondence, and paperwork to ensure project completion according to guiding standards.
  • Prioritize workload and operate within a defined budget.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, and punctuality.
  • Conduct safety tailgate meetings.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bilingual proficiency preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of (4)+ years of traceable experience in all aspects of underground utilities installation, including storm, sewer, water, and reclaim pipe.
