Position: Nursing Director Labor and Delivery

Responsibilities:

  • Lead as a department administrator, establishing and enforcing policies, procedures, standards, and objectives.
  • Provide fiscal accountability, ensuring the effective operation of the Nursing department in alignment with the hospital’s mission and goals.
  • Direct and supervise nursing staff, managing workflow and approving timekeeping.
  • Oversee employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders, and department strategic planning.
  • Focus on continuous assessment, improvement, coordination, and integration of department services and standards of care.
  • Demonstrate independent decision-making skills in diverse situations, ensuring a high degree of accuracy in varied responsibilities.
  • Utilize personal computer skills and maintain frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals, and volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Business Administration, Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Preferred: MSN
  • Experience:
    • Minimum: Five years’ experience in nursing management in a hospital setting with three years of supervisory experience.
    • Required: Current Arizona Registered Nurse License.
    • For Wound Care: Training in wound care and hyperbaric therapy from a nationally recognized provider.
    • Preferred: WOCN certification for Wound Care.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in personal computer skills.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability.
  • Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.
