Job Description: We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Franklin, TN office with a focus on design and project management. The successful candidate will play a vital role in marketing and business development, contributing to project proposals and providing technical expertise. Responsibilities include researching, developing, and designing a variety of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for healthcare, commercial, and industrial projects. The role involves managing and assisting with all phases of mechanical engineering projects, from design development to construction administration. Effective communication, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with project teams and clients are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, including project proposals and technical expertise.
  • Research, develop, and design equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for various projects.
  • Manage and assist with all phases of mechanical engineering projects, ensuring design intent is incorporated into construction documentation.
  • Provide project team coordination for design integration, specification preparation, and construction administration.
  • Prepare detailed plans and specifications, supported by calculations and thoughtful engineering solutions.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software for tasks.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members and clients.
  • Participate in planning, cost development, management, and scheduling for assigned projects.
  • Perform routine aspects of mechanical engineering with knowledge and application of principles.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Licensed Engineer (PE); licensure in the state of Tennessee strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience as a mechanical engineer in consulting services.
  • HVAC systems design experience, client-level interaction, and industry knowledge required.
  • LEED Accreditation is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional and comfortable interaction with excellent interpersonal relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in Revit, CAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with building materials, construction methods, building codes, and regulations.
