Job Description:
Our client, a recognized industry leader with multiple awards, is seeking a Central Maintenance Operations Manager to lead a diverse range of services supporting plant-wide maintenance and production units. This role involves overseeing Central Shops, comprising the Machine Shop, Truck Repair Shop, and Roll Shops. Key objectives include Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), as well as cost controls for both the plant and department.
Responsibilities:
As the Central Maintenance Operations Manager, you will be responsible for results in Central Shops, focusing on Environment, Health and Safety, Productivity, Asset Management, People Development, Quality, and Team Maturity.
- Strategically lead maintenance through the staff.
- Develop annual plans, objectives, and KPIs for the department.
- Establish processes for monitoring, tracking, and achieving annual goals.
- Hold the team accountable through the performance management system.
- Develop business presentations and proposals.
- Maintain close working relationships with peers across the plant.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering.
- A minimum of five years of experience in machine repair, maintenance management, and the manufacturing industry.
- A minimum of three years as a department manager with budget responsibility.
- Experience managing multimillion-dollar department budgets.
- Ability to lead organizational change and excellent communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Five years of experience managing plant-wide budgets exceeding $50M annually.
- Three years of experience leading contractual negotiations with manufacturing unions.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
- Proficient in developing logistics and planning initiatives.
Skills and Certifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in machine repair.
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance management.
- At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Experience working with a budget of $10 million or higher.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering.
- A minimum of three years as a department manager, including direct supervision of salaried staff and responsibility for hourly craft employees with demonstrated performance leading the team to improve KPIs and achieve targeted results.
