Position Overview: As a Lead Engineer for New Product Development, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive applications, design, analysis, and process development. This role demands high-level technical expertise, leadership, and adaptability to meet internal and external customer demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical design, analysis, and guidance for new product development and improvements.
  • Lead efforts to address challenges related to product design, inspection, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to design, analyze, and implement product designs across the entire product lifecycle.
  • Plan, organize, control, and lead multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring adherence to project budgets and schedules.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for cross-functional teams, liaising between Engineering and internal/external customers.
  • Create and interpret project schedules, communicate changes and status to Engineering Leadership and IPT(s).
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to co-workers, ensuring standardization of design and adherence to engineering processes.
  • Participate in resolving program change of scope issues with Project Engineering and Program Management.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
  • Participate in studies and improvement initiatives for cost reduction and first-time yield.
  • Interpret engineering documents and coordinate the creation and update of engineering documents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum five (5) years of Mechanical and Project Engineering experience, including 3D CAD software in an aerospace environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience implementing hydraulic product design and testing in a plant environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accreditation from ABET for mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Experience with Pro/Engineer, Enovia PLM, or similar 3D design and lifecycle management software.
  • Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and tolerance stack-up analyses.
  • Experience in structural and/or performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), FMEA, DOE, and RCCA principles.
