Position: Structural Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL

Our Award Winning Client, a nationally recognized structural engineering firm, is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join their esteemed team. Collaborating closely with architects, contractors, and diverse stakeholders, you will contribute to a wide range of projects, from interior buildouts to large midrise structures. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in structural design across various mediums including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Conduct supervised structural analysis and design utilizing both computer software and hand calculations.
  • Engage in construction administration and on-site observations in conjunction with the structural engineer of record.
  • Collaborate closely with architectural firms to facilitate an integrated design process.

AutoCAD, structural engineer, Revit, steel and concrete design, Risa 3D, Tekla Tedds, RAM, SAP2000, ETABS, Bluebeam, interior buildouts to large midrise structures, structural design, masonry, timber

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university program (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting; experience with Revit for plan setup, detail sheets, and markup incorporation.
  • Strong background in steel and concrete design, with proficiency in wood and masonry design considered advantageous.
  • Familiarity with mixed-use development and existing structures is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of engineering software such as Risa 3D, Tekla Tedds, RAM, SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Eagerness to tackle diverse projects and tasks while embracing opportunities for skill enhancement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Authorization to work in the US.
  • A passion for approaching design challenges from a holistic, multidisciplinary perspective.
