Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that management completes accident investigations and prepares serious incident reports correctly.
- Serve as the gatekeeper for healthcare services, including treatment for worker illness and injuries.
- “Believe in Zero” mindset by driving a safety-oriented workforce and mitigating any risks.
- Responsible for identifying and assisting with correcting any unsafe conditions within the company. Conduct and manage risk assessments as necessary.
- Implement corporate facility safety, health, and environmental technical standards to be followed by the plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Interacts with OSHA/EPA regarding formal complaints and inspections. Manage all activities related to outside governmental agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations.
- Determine the need for industrial hygiene monitoring (air, noise, heat stress, etc.) and conduct the monitoring or coordinate the monitoring with the appropriate agency. Review the results of industrial hygiene sampling and compare them to established regulatory limits {OSHA, American Congress of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL), and Short Term Exposure Limits (STEL)}.

- Manufacturing experience and must be able to organize and manage multiple tasks. Leadership skills are required to manage multiple objectives and deadlines successfully.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and through teams at all levels of the workforce
- Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate on all levels
- Computer proficiency is required.
- Must be able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors
- Experience with ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001
Education and Work Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management, Nursing, or a related field from a four-year college or university with two years of related experience and /or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience. Experience as an Occupational Health Nurse a plus.
- Preferred Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure to practice in the State of Louisiana.
