Position: Facilities Engineering Supervisor

Our client, a leading player in the Manufacturing & Production industry, is actively seeking a Facilities Engineering Supervisor to join their team in Hodges, South Carolina. This is a fantastic opportunity with a full-time, onsite position that includes paid relocation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team supporting operations, manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment needed for successful production.
  • Facilitate safe and effective preventative and unplanned maintenance of production and facility equipment and infrastructure.
  • Maintain the workflow process, including work identification, PM and repair planning, scheduling, execution, and auditing.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and track maintenance compliance items, such as precision instruments and PPE, ensuring adherence to safety and quality requirements.
  • Investigate and source parts, technical documentation to repair machinery and equipment; collaborate with machinery vendors to resolve maintenance items.
  • Provide leadership and support to personnel through mentoring, shared problem-solving, and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in an Engineering discipline (Metallurgical, Manufacturing, Industrial, etc.).
  • 15 years of experience in an industrial maintenance position (tactical maintenance).

Capacity Planning & Management – MFG:

  • Document major considerations of product promotions and analyze their effect on production and required capacity.
  • Provide management reports on actual and projected capacity requirements.
  • Use available tools to interpret forecasts and work out required capacity.
  • Participate in developing short-term capacity requirements for a specific product or plant.
  • Collect and collate key elements of the demand chain used in developing capacity requirements.

Lean Manufacturing:

  • Manage the adoption of lean manufacturing principles across the organization.
  • Teach others about how the lean approach integrates operations, customers, logistics, and product development.
  • Consult on work cell design and plan layout in support of lean principles.
  • Consult on the use of lean approaches across multiple functions.
  • Train others on key lean measurements and tools and techniques for measuring performance.
  • Participate in detailed planning for implementing and monitoring lean manufacturing.

Manufacturing Equipment:

  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and replacing defective or worn parts.
  • Follow basic care and safety considerations for specific types of manufacturing equipment.
  • Participate in setting up new machines and testing according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Use standard diagnostic tools and techniques; resolve common problems.
  • Conduct routine inspections; check machine performance and equipment safeguards; report standards violations.

Manufacturing Processes:

  • Advise others using industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness.
  • Develop best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks.
  • Train others on all major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing process.
  • Participate in measuring and monitoring new processes and technologies.
  • Select and optimize specific methodologies for specific products.
  • Evaluate benefits, drawbacks, and appropriateness of alternative processes and technologies.

Manufacturing Safety:

  • Consult on the use of new tools and techniques for safety protection.
  • Perform safety inspections to assure compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • Design and implement emergency response processes and procedures.
  • Promote workplace safety among supervisors and workers; communicate safety rules and regulations.
  • Assess and report unusual or new safety hazards or violations; initiate corrective action.
  • Ensure that all employees and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations.
