Position: Electrical Project Engineer II

Location: Hawesville, KY

Department: Engineering & Advancement 

Reports To: Modernization Hawesville, KY Project Manager

Overview: As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in planning, executing, and evaluating modernization capital projects. Join our team of innovative professionals dedicated to shaping the future of technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety in the workplace and on project sites
  • Evaluate bid packages for contractor work
  • Collaborate with site management and support groups for project completion
  • Develop switching orders, plans, and procedures for safe shutdowns and rebuilds
  • Create safety policies, maintenance procedures, and operating standards for power distribution equipment
  • Analyze technical drawings and interpret specifications for project requirements
  • Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose problems

Focus Areas: For the control system aspect, expertise in one or more of the following is desired:

  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and electrical control systems
  • Proficiency in ladder logic/PLC programming, with preference for Siemens and Rockwell
  • Relay protection design
  • Electrical distribution design and equipment (high voltage, medium voltage, low voltage)
  • Cost estimating
  • Startup and commissioning

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3 or more years of engineering experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience in industrial power distribution systems
  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD Electrical
  • Experience with power systems analysis and design software (preferred)
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
