Position Summary:

As the Department Administrator for Surgical Services, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and enforcing policies, procedures, standards, and objectives. Leading a skilled nursing team, you will oversee workflow, maintain budgetary accountability, and ensure the ongoing effective operation of the Nursing department. Your leadership will contribute to the nurturing work environment, promoting growth and development for our nursing professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement policies, procedures, standards, and objectives.
  • Supervise nursing staff, manage workflow, and ensure fiscal accountability.
  • Lead the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination, and integration of department services.
  • Uphold the hospital’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
  • Focus on patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and the community as valued customers.

Special and Technical Skills:

  • Utilize independent decision-making skills in diverse situations.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in varied responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in personal computer skills.
  • Regularly interact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals, and volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Management, or related field, or equivalent minimum experience requirements.
  • Preferred Education: MSN.
  • Minimum Experience: Five years of nursing management experience in a hospital setting with three years of supervisory experience.
  • Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Arizona Registered Nurse License.
  • Required Training: Wound care and hyperbaric therapy from a nationally recognized provider.
  • Preferred Certifications/Registration: WOCN.
