Job Description:

As a Boiler/Refrigeration Mechanic, you will operate under the guidance of the B/R Lead, supporting all PSM tasks. Your responsibilities include operating B&R equipment in your assigned area, diagnosing boiler and refrigeration issues, installing and setting up equipment, and interpreting prints and schematics. Additionally, you will advise supervisory personnel on maintenance requirements, contribute to training less skilled maintenance mechanics, and be prepared to work various shifts according to production and maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute basic plumbing runs and repairs using basic hand tools, power hand tools, and shop tools proficiently (excluding machine tools).
  • Demonstrate familiarity with basic mechanical nomenclature.
  • Understand the functioning of refrigeration and boiler systems to ensure the proper operation and troubleshooting of B&R equipment.
  • Exhibit knowledge of potential hazards and adhere to safety procedures related to the task at hand.
  • Effectively use LOTO, follow safety protocols, and maintain constant awareness of personal and co-worker safety.
  • Be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and various shifts (Days, Nights & Evenings).
  • Communicate verbally with authorized supervisory personnel and participate in training and directing other employees.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications:

  • RETA CIRO or Equivalent – Industrial Refrigeration Degree appreciated.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two-year or technical degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Freon universal card certification preferred (required in some locations).
  • Basic mechanical skills and mechanical aptitude required.
  • Detail-oriented with proven troubleshooting skills and abilities.
  • Proficient in English communication, including reading, writing, using prints, diagrams, operating instructions, and technical manuals.
  • Available to work any shifts (day, swing, graveyard, and/or rotating) and any day of the week, including weekends. Must be open to working overtime as required by production and maintenance schedules.
