Description:

Under the guidance of the Department Director and Imaging Manager, and in collaboration with healthcare professionals, the Imaging Technician I conducts technical diagnostic imaging procedures and related activities according to departmental standards for a diverse patient population, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Serving as a liaison to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff, this role actively participates in quality control and organizational enhancement initiatives. Additionally, the position involves adherence to an on-call schedule to meet staffing requirements and occasional travel to off-campus locations for radiographic or fluoroscopic procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in alignment with departmental standards.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure precise and timely imaging.
  3. Act as a liaison to patients, families, the public, and the medical staff.
  4. Engage in quality control and organizational improvement activities.
  5. Follow the on-call schedule to fulfill staffing needs.
  6. Conduct radiographic or fluoroscopic procedures at off-campus locations as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Completion of a radiologic technology program approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association.
  2. California Radiologic Technologist license upon appointment.
  3. National Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hiring.
  4. National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon appointment.

Preferred:

  1. Prior experience as a radiologic technologist in a hospital setting.
