Responsibilities:

  1. Operational and systems administration oversight for our client’s Imaging Department information systems (PACS, RIS, and Powerscribe).
  2. Act as a liaison to various departments and providers, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  3. Engage actively in one or more imaging modalities, supporting the daily operations of the Department.
  4. Monitor system operations, assess productivity, and assist with timekeeping (Kronos), staff scheduling and evaluations.
  5. Manage charge reconciliation, quality control, and performance improvement initiatives.
  6. Provide supervision to Imaging Staff, ensuring efficient daily operations and high-quality patient care.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge of clinical information and practices crucial for age-specific care across diverse age groups.
  8. Verify patient identification, confirm physician orders, and provide patient education before exams.
  9. Ensure proper completion of all requested exams, including documentation and proper labeling of images.
  10. Directly supervise Imaging Staff, oversee staff schedules, and provide valuable insights for employee performance evaluations.
  11. Perform various radiological exams requiring independent judgment, utilizing proper positioning, protocols, and techniques.
  12. Demonstrate proficiency in operating and handling all diagnostic equipment, maintaining efficient operation and performing preventative maintenance.
  13. Maintain knowledge of contrast media and medications, preparing and administering contrast according to departmental protocols.
  14. Prepare and assist radiologists/physicians with procedures, ensuring adherence to Standard Precautions and sterile techniques.
  15. Foster communication and cooperation with radiologists and other departments regarding protocol changes, scheduling, exams performed, and patient flow.
  16. Operate computer systems within the department, including Cerner, Powerchart, McKesson PACS, DR, CR, etc.
  17. Train and support imaging staff, radiologists, and providers in department operations.
  18. Perform clerical duties, provide clinical supervision for students, and assist in patient transport as needed.
  19. Practice radiation safety for both patients and oneself.
  20. Participate in departmental performance improvement activities and may be assigned specific quality assurance/quality control duties.
  21. Rotate within the department, perform exams in multiple modalities, work various shifts, and participate in call rotation as required for departmental functioning.
