Job Description
Position Overview:
Our esteemed client is on the lookout for a skilled Application Developer to contribute to their dynamic business line departments. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise to translate software requirements into innovative solutions. You’ll work on ‘off-the-shelf’ software, modifying and seamlessly integrating it into the existing architecture while maintaining programs for business applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement sound Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices, following established procedures for delivering application solutions supporting vital business strategies.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure the seamless implementation, maintenance, and support of software or hardware.
- Execute application configuration updates in the stage/test environment and strategize for rollbacks.
- Troubleshoot issues and effectively resolve incidents supporting existing production applications.
- Initiate corrective actions for quality problems or notify relevant parties about quality issues.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation and deliver user training on new system applications.
- Facilitate architecture reviews and ensure all architectural products are regularly updated and maintained.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the full architecture stack, effectively communicating on various Information Technology (IT) topics.
- Identify and address technical, process, or interpersonal problems to ensure timely project delivery and meet expectations.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience.
- Three years of experience in application development, including supporting business applications for diverse operating systems and platforms and/or structured query language (SQL) development for relational databases.
- Demonstrated knowledge of architecture/systems engineering best practices, systems process design, software design, programming principles, or equivalent processes.
- Adequate knowledge of Object-Oriented programming and networking.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with FiServ DNA, FIS Miser, Corelation Keystone, MeridianLink, Encompass, Digital Insight, Q2, COTS, Image Center.
- Mainframe coding experience using COBOL.
- Project management experience in an iterative project management methodology.
- Experience supporting business applications within a financial institution.
- Ability to program in at least one language, such as JavaScript.
- Familiarity with the Unix operating system, Unix shell scripting, or similar.
- Experience with one or more scripting languages (PowerShell).
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification or previous work within an ITIL environment.
Work Environment:
Our client utilizes multi-factor authentication for data security, and a personal smartphone is a requirement for employment. This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting frequently, walking occasionally, use of hands frequently, hearing constantly, talking frequently, exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
